THIS PETITION COMING ON FOR ORDERS, THIS DAY THE COURT MADE THE FOLLOWING:
ORDER Heard the learned counsel for the petitioners and the learned High Court Government Pleader for the respondent- State.
The respondent-Police have registered the FIR in their Crime No.21/2017 against seven accused persons in respect of offences punishable under Sections 498A, 504, 306, 143 read with Section 149 of IPC. The petitioners are arrayed as accused Nos.2 to 7 and they are the family members of 1st accused.
2. The allegation of the prosecution is, the deceased was married to 1st accused for last 10 years. The accused persons used to abuse her verbally and thus, inflicted mental cruelty. On 15.1.2017, the deceased committed suicide by setting herself ablaze and she died while on treatment in the hospital. She has stated with her brother/complainant that since the accused persons pin-pricked her and insisted her to return to her parental amount and get money from her parents, she has committed suicide. 1st accused is granted anticipatory bail by the order of this Court in Crl.P.No.2654/2017 dated 25.4.2017.
3. Having regard to the nature of allegation, there is no impediment to grant anticipatory bail to the petitioners for a limited period.
4. Accordingly, petition is allowed. Petitioners are granted anticipatory bail in Crime No.21/2017 registered by the respondent-Police for a limited period of three weeks.
Within the above period, they shall surrender before the concerned Court and move for regular bail.
Until disposal of their bail petition, this order will be in force.
In the event of their arrest within the above period by the Investigating Officer in respect of the above case, they shall be released on bail on each of them executing a self bond for a sum of Rs.1,00,000/- with one surety for the likesum.
