JUDGMENT / ORDER

The petitioner's father is undergoing imprisonment in the Central Prison, Coimbatore, upon conviction in a criminal case. The petitioner states that his father is a chronic heart patient and for the past few years, he is undergoing continuous medical treatment. He further submits that the condition of his father is deteriorating day by day and that if he is not immediately shifted to a super speciality hospital, his life would be in danger.
2. With the above facts and circumstances, the learned counsel for the petitioner prayed this Court for a direction to the respondent to provide treatment to the petitioner's father in a super speciality hospital for his heart ailment.
3. Mr.K.Balamurugan, Government Advocate, took notice for the respondent and submitted on instructions, that he has no objection to shift the petitioner's father to Kongunad Hospital, 11th Street, Tatabad, Gandhipuram, Coimbatore for further treatment.
4. While recording the above submission of the learned Government Advocate, the respondent is directed to shift the petitioner's father immediately to Kongunad Hospital, as stated by the learned Government Advocate, on compliance of the necessary formalities by the petitioner's father. It is made clear that charges towards shifting of the petitioner's father from the prison to hospital and the medical expenses, shall be borne by the petitioner.
5. The writ petition is disposed of accordingly. Consequently, the connected miscellaneous petition is closed. No costs.
