This petition has been filed to direct the 2nd respondent to give police protection to the petitioner and his men for removing Seemai Karuvelam Trees and thorny bushes, which are over grown in petitioners land in Survey Nos.178/2, 178/5, 178/7, 178/8, 178/9, 178/11, at Neivasal village of Pillaimangalam Taluk, Pudukkottai District on the basis of the representation dated 03.03.2017 and 16.03.2017.
2.It is the case of the petitioner that he is the owner of certain lands and that when he was taking steps to remove the Karuvelam Trees from the land, pursuant to the direction issued by the Tahsildar, some of the villagers are preventing the petitioner and therefore, the petitioner is before this Court for a direction to the respondent police to give police protection.
3.Today, Mr.C.Baskaran, Special Sub Inspector of Police, Thirumayam Police Station, Pudukottai District, is present before this Court.
4.The learned Government Advocate (Crl. Side), on instructions, submitted that the petitioner has given a representation dated 17.03.2017 to the Deputy Superintendent of Police, Pudukottai District and the same has been received by the 2nd respondent on 19.03.2017 and enquiry is going on.
5.Under such circumstances, the petitioner is directed to appear before the 2nd respondent police and take part in the enquiry. The 2nd respondent is directed to expeditiously conduct an enquiry on the complaing given by the petitioner and take action in accordance with law.
With the above direction, the petition is disposed of.
