Heard learned counsel for the petitioner and learned Standing Counsel for the State.
By way of this writ petition, the petitioner has prayed the following prayers:-
"A. Issue a writ, order or direction, in the nature of mandamus directing the respondent no.1-Principal Secretary (Food and Civil Supply), U.P. at Lucknow to extend the reasonable period i.e. 30.09.2021 for delivery of Custom Milled Rice (CMR) due to surge of Covid-19 Pandemic.
B. Issue a writ, order or direction, in the nature of mandamus directing the respondent no.1 to decide the representation dated 19.06.2021 moved by petitioner, expeditiously, within stipulated period as fixed by this Hon'ble Court.
C. Issue any other writ, order or direction which this Hon'ble Court may deem fit and proper under the circumstances of the case.
D. Award the cost to the petitioner."
The prayer prayed for is not as such which cannot be granted by this Court hence, the same is granted in part.
Accordingly, the writ petition is disposed of with a direction to the respondent no.1 to decide the representation dated 19.06.2021 moved by petitioner, expeditiously on or before 31.10.2021.
This Court has not expressed any opinion on the merit of the case.
