1. Called in revise. None appeared to press this writ petition. Learned Standing Counsel is present for respondents. In the circumstances, I myself have perused the record.
2. By means of present writ petition, petitioners have sought following reliefs:
“(a) Issue a writ, order or direction in the nature of certiorari quashing the impugned advertisement dated 12.8.2002 (Annexure-1 to the writ petition);
(b) Issue a writ, order or direction in the nature of mandamus commanding the respondents not to fill up any post of collection Peon pursuant to impugned advertisement (Annexure-1) without considering the claim/applications of the petitioners for being regularised in service under 33% fixed quota for seasonal collection peons as well as quota fixed for s.c./S.T./B.C. Candidates;
(c) Issue a writ, order or direction in the nature of mandamus commanding the respondents to consider the applications of the petitioners (Annexure-12 and 13) and to appoint the petitioners as Collection Peons on regular basis under 33% quota of seasonal collection Amins on which both the petitioners are working since 1981 and 1989 respectively and to pay to the petitioners, regularly and not to give artificial trade.”
3. I myself have gone through the pleadings, grounds as also reliefs sought and find that petitioners are not able to make out a case so as to justify interference of this Court by granting reliefs, as prayed for.
4. Moreover, it appears that either the cause of action no more survives or the petitioners have lost interest in this matter or it has otherwise become infructuous and, probably for this reason, none is interested to have decided this matter on merits and that is why, counsel for petitioners is absent.
5. Dismissed. Interim order, if any, stands vacated.
