Heard Shri Anand Kumar Srivastava, learned counsel for the petitioner, learned standing counsel for the respondent no. 1 and Shri Vivek Verma, learned counsel for the respondents no. 2 to 4.
The petitioner in the writ petition is seeking a direction to the respondents to provide him possession of Quarter No. D-64/151 situated near West side of Nagar Nigam, Varanasi in terms of allotment order dated 1.7.2017.
Shri Vivek Verma, learned counsel for the respondents, on instructions received, informs that the respondents are reconsidering the decision because of certain complaints received by them.
No useful purpose would be served in keeping this writ petition pending.
This writ petition is therefore disposed of with a direction to the respondent no. 2-Municipal Commissioner, Varanasi Nagar Nigam, Varanasi to take a decision in the matter expeditiously preferably within a period of two months from the date of receipt of the certified copy of this order.
It is made clear that the court has not adjudicated the claim of the petitioner on merit.
