The petitioner is aggrieved by the detention of his goods on transport-interstate. Admittedly, the goods were notified goods and were transported without delivery note. It was only in such circumstance that the goods were detained and security deposit demanded. In that context, it cannot be said that the detention was totally without reason, since the notified goods transported were not accompanied by documents as stipulated in the Act. However, considering the fact that the petitioner is a registered dealer, the petitioner shall be permitted release of the goods on payment of 50% of the amount demanded, and execution of simple bond without sureties for the balance amount; expeditiously, on production of a certified copy of this judgment. Writ petition disposed of.
