This Criminal Original petition is filed for issuing a direction to the respondent police to expedite the investigation and to file final report in Crime No.131 of 2017 on the file of the respondent police.
2. Heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and the learned Additional Public Prosecutor appearing for the respondent.
3. The petitioner's sister lodged a complaint against her husband and his family members and a case was registered in Crime No.6 of 2016 for the alleged offences under
Sections 406,420,498(A),506(i) of I.P.C., and Section 4 of Tamil Nadu Prohibition of Women Harassment Act, 2002. Thereafter, the petitioner lodged another complaint and based on the complaint, a case was registered in Crime No.131 of 2017 as against two individuals, for the alleged offences under
Sections 294(b),355 and
506(i) of I.P.C.
4. Having regard to the facts and circumstances of the case, this Court is inclined to issue the following direction:-
? The respondent is directed to expedite the investigation in Crime No.131 of 2017 and to file final report within a period of two months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.?
5. The Criminal Original petition is allowed accordingly.
