Petitioner is permitted to implead Additional Director (Pension and Treasury), Prayagraj as respondent no.6. Notice on behalf of newly impleaded respondent has been accepted by learned Standing Counsel.
Petitioner is a retired employee of the respondent Corporation. She has approached this Court with the grievance that though she has retired on 31.8.2018, yet, her retiral benefits have not been paid so far.
Sri Rathore, learned counsel appearing for the respondents submits that some delay was occasioned on account of intervention by the Government, which required the retiral benefits to be processed and released by the Directorate of Pension and not by the Corporation. It is also pointed out that pension papers have already been forwarded to the Additional Director (Pension and Treasury) on 24.10.2019.
Once the claim of petitioner has been processed and forwarded to the authority concerned, it is expected that the same shall be processed, expeditiously, and the amount of pension and other dues would be released within a reasonable period.
Writ petition is, accordingly, disposed of with a direction upon the respondents to ensure that amount due and payable towards pension and other retiral dues are released to the petitioner, within a period of two months from the date of presentation of certified copy of this order. Petitioner would also be entitled to interest on the withheld retiral amount in terms of the applicable scheme/govt. orders.
