JUDGMENT / ORDER

This petition has been filed for a writ of Mandamus directing the respondent Panchayat to dispose of the petitioner's representation dated 08.06.2004.
2. The petitioner in an earlier occasion sent a representation on 24.09.2003 to the respondent to furnish the work sheet for the levy of property/house tax for the ten Assessment numbers cited in the letter.
3. Perusal of the representation dated 08.6.2004 manifests that the Town Panchayat /respondent demanded enhanced property tax as against the petitioner.
4. In view of the above, I am of the opinion that in order to protract the payment of property tax, the petitioner has filed this writ petition and do not find any substance in the petitioner's representation dated 08.06.2004. If the petitioner is aggrieved against the demand of the property tax made by the respondent, there is a remedy available under the District Municipality Act.
5. Accordingly, the limited prayer sought for in this writ petition cannot be granted and hence, this petition is dismissed. However, it is open to the petitioner to work out his remedy before the Appellate authority. No costs.
