1. Heard learned counsel for petitioner and learned standing counsel who appears for the Food Corporation of India.
2. The petitioner's husband was a watchman initially but later on was asked to work as Electric Cylo Operator. He died on 17.09.1999 in harness. After the death of her husband, the petitioner received a sum of Rs.5,000/- for last ceremony on 16.03.2001 and also received Rs.20,869/- as Group Insurance and Rs.75,809/- as the Gratuity amount on the basis of the old Pay Scale. The petitioner has made several applications thereafter for compassionate appointment and for other retiral dues. The same are pending. The last such representation made by the petitioner is dated 07.09.2017, which has remained undisposed off.
4. Without entering into the merits of the controversy, this writ petition is disposed off with a direction to the respondent No.
3 to look into the grievance of the petitioner and pass appropriate orders thereon either himself or forward the matter with his comments to respondent No. 1. The competent authority shall decide the representation of the petitioner by a reasoned and speaking order within a period of three months from the date a certified copy of this order is produced before him. If any amount is due to the petitioner, the same may also be ensured to be paid to her within a further period of next one month.
