Heard Sri Ankit Kapoor, learned counsel for the petitioner, Sri J.K. Upadhyay, learned A.G.A. for the State-respondents and perused the material on record.
The limited grievance in the present petition is for issuance of direction to the police authorities to conduct fair and impartial investigation in Crime No. 384 of 2019 under Sections 376, 511, 147, 304, 506, 448 of IPC, P.S. Bhelupur, District Varanasi.
According to petitioner on 18.05.2019, she lodged a report against private respondents for the offence mentioned above but till date nothing has been done by the police.
Learned AGA submits that the State is bound to do fair and impartial investigation and the same would be done in accordance with law.
The present petition is disposed of directing the police authorities to conclude the investigation of the said case fairly, impartially and expeditiously, preferably within a period of four months from the date of production of certified copy of this order, in accordance with law.
It is made clear that this Court has not expressed any opinion on merit of the case and the police would be at liberty to complete the investigation on the basis of the material so collected.
