Heard learned counsel for the petitioner; learned A.G.A. for the State-respondents; and perused the record.
The instant petition seeks quashing of an order dated 10.12.2018 by which the prayer of the petitioner to stay the effect and operation of the externment order has been rejected.
We have perused the record.
A perusal of the externment order would reflect that there are several cases registered against the petitioner of which notice has been taken in the externment order and therefore we do not consider it appropriate to interfere with the order rejecting the stay application though, keeping in mind that the externment order is only for a period of six months, we deem it appropriate to direct the Commissioner, Saharanpur Division, Saharanpur (second respondent) to ensure expeditious decision on the pending appeal of the petitioner, preferably, within a period of four weeks from the date a certified copy of this order is furnished upon him.
The petition stands disposed off.
