JUDGMENT / ORDER

The appellant sustained injuries in a motor accident. The vehicle had been insured with the second respondent. The Tribunal found that the appellant is entitled to compensation and the second respondent is liable to pay compensation. It awarded Rs.16,041/- as compensation. The appellant is not satisfied with the amount. 2. Heard.
3. It is not disputed that the injuries sustained by the appellant were lacerated wound on chin and lower lip. Three teeth were broken. There is no dispute with regard to the amount awarded under the heads transport to hospital, damage to clothing and articles, treatment expenses, pain and suffering and loss of amenities of life. In fact the amounts awarded under the last two heads appear to be on the higher side.
4. The learned counsel for the appellant submits that M.A.C.A.No.173 of 2014

no amount was awarded under the head loss of earnings. That is true. The appellant was aged 20 years. In the absence of any evidence to prove his monthly income, it is fixed at Rs.2,500/-. He is entitled to get one month's income under the head loss of earnings.
In the result, this appeal is allowed in part. In addition to the awarded by the Tribunal the appellant is entitled to get Rs.2,500/- (Rupees two thousand five hundred only) with interest at 8% per annum.
No costs.
