JUDGMENT / ORDER

Ashok Bhushan, Ag.CJ Heard learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned State Attorney. 2. By this petition the petitioner has prayed for a mandamus directing the third respondent and other excise personnels not to harass the petitioner and his family unnecessarily.
3. Petitioner's case is that petitioner's husband was an accused in a criminal case regarding narcotics. Learned counsel submits that on the above pretext, excise authorities are visiting the house and carrying out raides. He also submits that complaint was also sent to Sub Inspector of Police as well as to the City Police Commissioner. The Excise authorities, who under law, are entitled to conduct raid and find out whether narcotic substances are handled, owned or sold by any person. In any event of any WP(c) No. 30349/14 2 excess in the alleged performance of duty, the remedy is to approach the higher authorities. We see no ground to issue any direction as prayed for.
With this observation, the writ petition is closed.
