Petitioner has superannuated on 31.05.2017. It appears that retiral benefits were not released to her, on account of which she has also approached this Court by filing Writ Petition No. 6215 of 2018, which came to be disposed of on 22.02.2018. Pursuant to the aforesaid orders passed, all terminal dues, due and payable to the petitioner, have been released. Petitioner's claim has been disposed of vide order dated 03.08.2018, in which details have been given with regard to date of release of retiral dues under different heads.
Perusal of the order would go to show that various amounts were paid from December, 2017 to June, 2018. Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the authorities have arbitrarily denied payment of interest to the petitioner.
Learned standing counsel states that petitioner had not vacated the official premises and the same was vacated after filing of the writ petition and therefore, it cannot be said that there was any delay in payment of retiral dues.
In the facts and circumstances of the case, noticed above, this Court finds that there is no unusual delay in release of retiral benefits to petitioner. The payment of interest cannot be claimed, in the facts and circumstances of the present case; in as much as, petitioner, herself, has vacated the official premises much after filing of the writ petition, while she was expected to vacate the premises within a month. The grievance raised about denial of interest, therefore, cannot be sustained.
The writ petition is, accordingly, dismissed.
