The petitioners' claim themselves to be in a relationship with each other, which is not palatable to the step brothers of the petitioner no.1 and, therefore, apprehending an untoward incident, the petitioners have moved an application before the police authorities for protection.
The prayer in this petition is to command the police authorities to ensure that the petitioners are not harassed in any manner and they are able to have peaceful existence.
It has not been demonstrated in the writ petition that any untoward incident has taken place at the instance of the private respondents or that they have extended threats of which a first information report was lodged by the petitioners.
Under the circumstances, at this stage, we do not deem it appropriate to issue any specific direction upon the police authorities as has been prayed for but, we leave it open to the petitioners to represent their cause to the police authorities as and when the occasion arises.
With the aforesaid liberty, the petition is disposed of. Order Date :- 24.9.2021 Bhaskar
