The Criminal Appeal is preferred by the appellant/accused challenging the Judgment dated 16.08.2007 passed in S.C. No.462 of 2006 by the Court of the Assistant Sessions Judge, at Mahboobnagar, whereby the learned Judge found the accused guilty for the offences under Sections 498-A and 306 IPC, and accordingly convicted and sentenced to suffer simple imprisonment for a period of three years and to pay a fine of Rs.1,000/- (Rupees one thousand only), in default, to undergo simple imprisonment for a period of three months for the offence under Section 498-A IPC, and to suffer simple imprisonment for a period of five years and to pay a fine of Rs.3,000/- (Rupees three thousand only), in default, to undergo simple imprisonment for a period of four months for the offence under Section 306 IPC.
The learned Public Prosecutor submits that the appellant/accused has served the entire sentence imposed by the Court below and as such he submits that the criminal appeal is liable to be dismissed as infructuous. .
Accordingly the Criminal Appeal is dismissed as infructuous.
Miscellaneous applications, if any pending in this appeal, shall stand dismissed.
