JUDGMENT / ORDER

The petitioner is the accused in Crime No.324/2014 of Changanacherry Police Station. Offences alleged are under section 354A of IPC and section 7 r/w 8 of POCSO Act.
2. The victim girl and her mother have filed affidavits before this Court stating that complaint happened to be filed on misconception of fact. They are represented by their counsel before this court. They have filed affidavits stating that the entire matter has been settled out of court and that they do not want to proceed with the matter.
3. An offence against a minor child is a very serious thing and should not be allowed to be compounded or settled. But in view of the fact that the complaint happened Crl.M.C. No. 2868/2014 -2-
to be filed because of misconception of facts etc, as stated in the affidavit, and as no useful purpose will be served by proceeding further in the matter, this petition is allowed.
4. In the light of the settlement so arrived at, further proceedings in Crime No.324/2014 of Changanacherry Police Station, is quashed.
