The petitioner who is the owner in possession of 3.25 cents of property comprised in survey No.298/1A of Vellad village carried out construction of a building in the said property after obtaining Ext.P3 building permit. On completion of the construction, the petitioner submitted Ext.P4 application for assignment of building number. It is the delay in consideration of the said application that constrained the petitioner to file the captioned writ petition. Despite the receipt of notice in this proceedings, the first respondent has not chosen to enter appearance and resist the case. Considering the fact that the prayer of the petitioner is for consideration of Ext.P4 application for assignment of building number, without making any observation as to the entitlement of the petitioner for the same, this writ petition is disposed of with a direction to the first respondent to consider Ext.P4 application and pass appropriate orders thereon, expeditiously and in accordance with law, at any rate, within a period of three weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this judgment. The petitioner shall produce a copy of this judgment to enable the first respondent to comply with the directions herein.
