The petitioner, who claims to be in love with the fifth respondent's daughter Miss. Aiswarya I., has filed this writ of habeas corpus directing respondents 2 to 5 to cause production of the body of the detenue in this court. He has alleged that he and the detenue are deeply in love and they intend to marry and live together as husband and wife. The writ petition was admitted and notice ordered to the respondents on 20.12.2014. By that order, this court directed the fifth respondent to produce the detenue in this court today. The fifth respondent has accordingly produced the detenue in this court. The petitioner has today filed I.A.No.17657/2014 for permission to withdraw the writ petition.
2. The detenue was present along with her parents and we interacted with the detenue. She stated that her date of birth is 17.12.1995, that she is a major and she is I.A.No.17657 of 2014 & W.P.(Crl.) No.527 of 2014

living happily with her parents. Sri.Ilangovan, father of the detenue and her mother Mrs. Rani were also present.
In such circumstances, as the detenue has stated in an unequivocal terms that she is a free agent and she does not want to go with the petitioner, we are of the opinion that on the merits itself the writ petition is liable to be dismissed. We accordingly dismiss I.A.No.17657/2014 and the writ petition on the merits.
