Learned counsel for petitioner, on instructions, submits that he does not want to press the prayers of writ petition and prayed that the same may be dismissed as not pressed with liberty to move a fresh application before competent authority for granting of arm license, as provided under law. He further prayed that the same may be considered and decided, expeditiously, within stipulated time period.
The prayers of writ petition are rejected being not pressed.
In view of above, the writ petition is finally disposed of with a direction that in case, appropriate application is filed before competent authority within four weeks from today for granting of arm license, the Competent Authority shall take all endeavours to decide the application, expeditiously, preferably within a year from the date of receipt of the application.
