The petitioner claims that he is the landlord of the hostel that is being run by the Social Welfare Department by taking it on rent from the petitioner, but rent has not been paid.
Learned counsel for the petitioner has relied upon a letter dated 22.12.2017 by which it appears that the respondents have accepted their liability for payment of rent, but the rent is not being paid.
The writ petition is disposed of with the observation that in case the premises in question is occupied by the Social Welfare Department and rent is due and admitted, then the same be paid to the petitioner in accordance with law without unnecessary delay.
