Heard Sri Vijay Gautam, learned Senior Counsel assisted by Sri Ishir Sripat learned counsel for the petitioner, learned Standing Counsel and Sri Kartikeya Saran, learned counsel for the respondent.
The petitioner has preferred the present writ petition with the following prayers-
"(a) issue, a writ, order or direction in the nature of mandamus directing he Respondent No.5, to conclude the Departmental Disciplinary Proceedings initiated against the petitioner in pursuance of the Departmental Charge- sheet dated 10/06/2021, in accordance with the Office Memorandum dated 08/08/2018 and 25/06/2021, issued by the U.P. Power Corporation Limited, Uttar Pradesh Lucknow.
(b) issue, a writ, order or direction in the nature of mandamus directing he Respondent No.4, to pass appropriate order on the application of the petitioner, in accordance with law & Office Memorandum dated 08/08/2018 and 25/06/2021, issued by the U.P. Power Corporation Limited, Uttar Pradesh Lucknow, with regard to concluding/finalizing the Departmental/Disciplinary Proceeding, initiated against the petitioner, in pursuance of the Departmental Chargesheet dated 10/06/2021."
Upon instructions, it is argued by learned counsel for respondents that the respondent No.5 namely Chief Engineer, Enquiry Committee, Paschimanchal Vidyut Vitran Nigam Ltd. Meerut will conclude the departmental inquiry initiated against the petitioner pursuant to the charge-sheet dated 10.06.2021 expeditiously and preferably within a period of two months and thereafter, the respondent No.4/Managing Director, Purvanchal Vidyut Vitran Nigam Ltd. Varanasi will take a decision in the matter within a period of thirty days.

In view of the undertaking given by the learned counsel for the respondents, this petition is disposed of directing the respondent No.5 to conclude the departmental proceedings within a period of two months from the date of production of certified copy of this order. The respondent No.4 is also directed to take a decision in the matter within a period of thirty days thereafter.
