IN THE HIGH COURT OF JUDICATURE AT MADRAS DATED 20.09.2017 CORAM THE HON'BLE Mr.JUSTICE A.SELVAM and THE HON'BLE Mr.JUSTICE P.KALAIYARASAN H.C.P.No.707 of 2017 Sasikala .. Petitioner Vs

2. The Commissioner of Police Greater Chennai Vepery, Chennai .. Respondents Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying to issue a WRIT OF HABEAS CORPUS, to calling for the records relating to the detention order in Memo No.BCDFGISSSV 135/2017 dated 06.04.2017 passed by the 2nd respondent under Tamil Nadu Act 14 of 1982 and quash the same and direct the respondent to produce the detenu Siva, Son of Kalimuthu, male aged 34 years, now confined in Central Prison, Puzhal, before this Court and set the detenu at liberty.
For Petitioner : Mr.S.Vellidoss For Respondents : Mr.V.M.R.Rajentran, Additional Public Prosecutor O R D E R [Order of the Court was made by A.SELVAM, J.] This Habeas Corpus Petition has been filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying to call for the records relating to the detention order passed in BCDFGISSSV No.135/2017 dated 06.04.2017 by the Detaining Authority against the detenu by name, Siva, aged 34 years, S/o.Kalimuthu, residing at No.10/100, Vishnuvarman Street, Indira Nagar, Perumbakkam, Chennai- 600 100 and quash the same.
2. Learned Additional Public Prosecutor has represented that the Detention Order in question has already been revoked, by virtue of G.O.Rt.No.2537 dated 29.05.2017 and a copy of the same is submitted, wherein, it is clearly stated that the Detention Order in question has been revoked.
3. Considering the above said factual circumstances, the relief sought in the petition has become infructuous.
4. In fine, this petition is dismissed as infructuous.
