We have heard Sri M.S.Pandey, learned counsel for the petitioners and learned Standing Counsel for the State respondents.
This writ petition has been filed with the following prayers :-
• (i) Issue a writ, order or direction in the nature of mandamus directing the respondents no. 2 to 4 to provide the protection to the petitioners for safety of life and liberty and take necessary action in accordance with law against the respondent no. 5 to 9 and their helpers within stipulated period, which may be fixed by this Hon'ble Court.
• (ii) Issue a writ, order or direction in the nature of mandamus directing the respondent no. 2 to 4 to decide the representation of the petitioners dated 06.12.2017 and 04.01.2018 (Annexure No. 6 and 7) to the writ petition within stipulated period, which may be fixed by this Hon'ble Court.
• (iii) Issue writ, order or direction in the nature of mandamus directing the respondent no.2 to comply the order dated 15.09.2017 passed by District Magistrate, Allahabad about the providing the protection to the petitioners for safety of life and liberty within stipulated period which may be fixed by this Hon'ble Court, (Annexure No. 5 to this writ petition).
• (iv) Issue any other suitable writ, order or direction in which this Hon'ble Court may deem fit and proper under the facts and circumstances of the case.
• (v) Award the cost of the petition in favour of the petitioners.
Considering the nature of the relief sought for by the petitioners, we are not inclined to interfere with this matter under Article 226 of the Constitution of India. This writ petition is disposed of with the liberty to the petitioners to avail such other remedies as available to them under law. In case, such approach is made before the authority competent, needful be done in accordance with law as early as possible.
