Heard learned counsel for the parties and perused the record.
By means of present writ petition, the petitioners are seeking a writ of certiorari for quashing the impugned transfer orders dated 29.06.2007, 30.06.2008 and 08.08.2009, by which the petitioners have been transferred from their present place of posting to different place, as well as relieving order dated 20.06.2010.
There appears to be no justification to enforce the order after lapse of almost three years. The transfer orders are passed to meet out the exigencies of service in pursuance of the decision taken at a particular time. There is no reason to enforce the transfer order after lapse of three years.
The writ petition is, therefore, allowed. The impugned transfer orders dated 29.06.2007, 30.06.2008 and 08.08.2009, so far as the same relate to the petitioners, are hereby quashed. However, opposite parties are at liberty to pass afresh order to meet out the exigencies of service, if necessary.
