JUDGMENT / ORDER

COMMON PRAYER: Writ Petitions are filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying to issue a Writ of Mandamus directing the respondents to disburse the compensation for lands acquired in Survey Nos.21/13, 21/14, 21/15, 21/16 and 97/14 and Survey Nos. 84/14, 93/5A, 96/5, 96/7 and 96/16 at Inathukanpatti Village, Thanjavur Taluk, Thanjavur District by considering the petitioners' representation dated 23.02.2015.
These writ petitions have been filed, seeking to direct the respondents to disburse the compensation for the lands acquired in Survey Nos.21/13, 21/14, 21/15, 21/16 and 97/14 and Survey Nos. 84/14, 93/5A, 96/5, 96/7 and 96/16 at Inathukanpatti Village, Thanjavur Taluk, Thanjavur District by considering the petitioners' representation dated 23.02.2015.
2. Heard the learned Counsel appearing on either side.
3. The case of the petitioners is that they have given representations to the respondents dated 23.02.2015 requesting them to disburse the compensation amount in respect of acquisition of their lands. Since no action has been taken, the petitioners have come forward with the writ petitions.
4. The learned Government Advocate appearing for the respondents 2 to 5 would submit that if a reasonable time is granted to the respondents, the representation of the petitioner will be considered and suitable orders will be passed.
5. Considering the limited scope of the relief sought for, this Court, without going into the merits of the petitioners claim, directs the respondents to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 23.02.2015, with regard to disbursement of compensation amount and pass appropriate orders on its own merits and in accordance with law, within a period of six weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order, after affording due opportunity of hearing to the petitioners.
6. These writ petitions are disposed of as above. No costs.
