JUDGMENT / ORDER

Heard Mr.L.P.Shanmugasundaram, learned Special Government Pleader appearing for the respondents. There is no representation for the petitioners.
2. It is the case of the petitioners that the first petitioner is the wife and the 2nd and 3rd petitioners are the daughters of Late Chinnayan. The said Chinnayan had obtained jewel loans on various occasions vide account Nos.4558, 5377, 5608 , 6177 and 6292 from the first respondent- Bank by pledging the jewels. The said Chinnayan died leaving behind the petitioners herein and his son Saravanan as his legal heirs. It is stated that the petitioners herein have almost paid the dues pending before the first respondent for the loan availed by Late Chinnayan, whereas his son Saravanan has not contributed anything in settling the dues. It is stated that when the petitioners approached the first respondent to redeem the jewels by paying the meagre amount, viz., Rs.10/-, Rs.50/- etc., that were pending against the jewel loan account, the first respondent has not considered their request and refused to accept their claim on the premise that the said Saravanan is the only legal heir of the deceased Chinnayan and the jewels can be released only at his behest. The petitioners are in need of money to meet out their daily requirements. Moreover, the first petitioner, the wife of Late Chinnayan is suffering from age ailments and it would be of great help if the jewels are returned to them. In the said circumstances, the petitioners made several representations to the first respondent-Bank. Since the first respondent had not considered their requests, the petitioners are before this Court in this Writ Petition.
3. Considering the limited scope of prayer sought for by the petitioners in the Writ Petition, this Court, without going into the merits of the claim projected by the petitioners in their representation, directs the first respondent to consider the petitioner's representation dated 18.11.2014 on merits and in accordance with law as expeditiously as possible, within a period of three months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order, after affording opportunities to the parties concerned, including Saravanan, who is also one of the legal heir of Late Chinnaiyan.
4. With the above direction, this Writ Petition is disposed of. No costs.
