JUDGMENT / ORDER

Petitioner belongs to the State of West Bengal, a herbal practitioner in piles and now is practicing in the State of Kerala. Petitioner submits that he is not engaged in modern medicine practice. However, it is alleged that he is being harassed by police for want of registration. Petitioner approached the first respondent under Sec.38 of the Travancore-Cochin Medical Practitioners Act for exemption. Ext.P4 is the request made by the petitioner.
In view of Ext.P4, there shall be a direction to the first respondent to consider Ext.P4 within a period of two months from the date of receipt of a copy of this judgment. Till final decision is taken by the first respondent on Ext.P4, no coercive steps shall be taken against the petitioner for practicing in treatment of piles. However, petitioner is found practicing in any modern medicine, officials are free to take appropriate action against the petitioner.
The Writ Petition is disposed of as above.
