Salim A vs Kerala State Election Commission Palayam

High Court Of Kerala|06 November, 2014
|

JUDGMENT / ORDER

The complaint of the petitioner is that, though respondents 2 and 3 have been disqualified by the first respondent, no action has been taken to fill up the resultant vacancies. It is the case of the petitioner that, though respondents 2 and 3 had challenged their disqualification before this Court, the writ petitions have already been finally disposed of. The petitioner therefore seeks the issue of appropriate directions to the first respondent to conduct an election to the vacancies that are created. 2. A statement has been filed on behalf of the first respondent. What is stated is that, a certified copy of the judgment of this Court has not yet been received by the first respondent. The first respondent would take necessary steps WPC 24874/2014 2 to have elections conducted to the vacant post immediately on receipt of certified copy of the judgment.
In view of the above submission, this writ petition is disposed of recording the submission made on behalf of the first respondent that the election to the resultant vacancies would be conducted immediately on receipt of a certified copy of the judgment of this Court.
