JUDGMENT / ORDER

This Criminal Original Petition has been filed to quash the proceedings in C.C.No.166 of 2005 on the file of the Judicial Magistrate No.1, Kancheepuram.
2. When this Criminal Original Petition came up before this Court on 12.01.2017, this Court directed the Registry to issue memo to the Judicial Magistrate No.1, Kancheepuram asking explanation as to the long pendency in disposing the case in C.C.No.166 of 2005 and to file a report before this Court.
3. Today, a letter dated 11.01.2017 in Dis.No.118/MC/2017 from the Judicial Magistrate No.1, Kancheepuram, giving explanation, has been filed, which is not so convincing.
4. However, to give quietus to the issue and also considering the facts and circumstances of the case, the Judicial Magistrate No.1, Kancheepuram is directed to dispose of the case in C.C.No.166 of 2005 strictly within a period of four months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order, by hearing the case on a day-to-day basis.
5. The Criminal Original Petition is disposed of accordingly. No Consequently, the connected miscellaneous petition is closed.
