Petitioner has approached this Court seeking a direction to the respondents to enable him to pay penalty imposed on him by Ext.P1 in installments. By Ext.P1, respondents have imposed a penalty of `3,00,000/- on the petitioner. Petitioner has also directed to deposit the amount within 45 days from the date of receipt of the order. Petitioner submits that he is under stringent financial difficulty and he may not be able to pay the amount within the stipulated period. Petitioner submits that he has no other challenge regarding Ext.P1. Petitioner apprehends coercive steps against him. Petitioner requests for permission to pay the amount in installments within the time indicated in Ext.P1.
2. Learned Assistant Solicitor General submits that no leniency has to be shown to the petitioner as petitioner has committed default in payment and petitioner is liable to pay the amount within the time indicated in Ext.P1.

In the facts and circumstances, if the petitioner pays an amount of `50,000/- (Rupees Fifty Thousand Only) within a period of one month from today, he shall be permitted to pay the balance W.P(C).No.28350 of 2014 P 2 amount of `2,50,000/- (Rupees Two Lakh Fifty Thousand Only) in eight (8) monthly installments starting from 01.01.2015. It is made clear that if the petitioner commits default in payment of `50,000/- or any monthly installments, respondents are free to take action against the petitioner in accordance with law.
The Writ Petition is disposed of as above.
