JUDGMENT / ORDER

The prayer made in the writ petition is to issue a writ of Mandamus directing the respondent to give permission and police protection to conduct the dance programme in Sri Mariamman Kovil festival on 10.03.2017.
2. It is the grievance of the petitioner that he has submitted a representation dated 27.02.2017 to the respondent, seeking permission to conduct the dance programme in Sri Mariamman Kovil festival scheduled to be held on 10.03.2017. However, till date, no order has been passed either to grant permission or reject the said representation made by the petitioner. Hence, this petition.
3. Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and the leaned Additional Public Prosecutor, who took notice for the respondent.
4. Considering the facts and circumstances of the case, without going into the merits of the claim made by the petitioner, this Court directs the respondent to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 27.02.2017 and pass appropriate orders on merits and in accordance with law before 07.03.2017.
5. With the above direction, the writ petition is disposed of. No costs.
