Respondent PRAYER: Civil Revision Petition filed under Article 227 of the Constitution of India praying for a direction directing the VI Additional Family Court, Chennai to pass orders in I.A.No.2257 of 2017 in O.P.No.1118 of 2014 and O.P.No.3546 of 2014 on the file of VI Additional Family Court, Chennai within the time frame fixed by this Court instead of adjourning the matter time to time and finally on 18.09.2017.
For Petitioner : Mr.S.Angamuthu For Respondent : Mr.T.C.S.Raja Chockalingam O R D E R The petitioner has filed this Civil Revision Petition to direct the VI Additional Family Court, Chennai to pass orders in I.A.No.2257 of 2017 in O.P.No.1118 of 2014 and O.P.No.3546 of 2014 on the file of VI Additional Family Court, Chennai within the time frame fixed by this Court instead of adjourning the matter time to time and finally on 18.09.2017.
2. According to the learned counsel for the petitioner, the respondent/wife has filed the petition O.P.No.1118 of 2014 for amendment of the petition for divorce before the concerned Family Court. The power agent of the petitioner has filed an application on 16.02.2016, the said application has been adjourned from time to time. It is also specifically stated in the affidavit that the petitioner has to come from Australia and attend the hearing. Inspite of other hearing dates, the power agent of the petitioner can represent the case. The said application is still pending before the Family Court. Therefore, the petitioner herein has filed the present revision before this Court.
3. The learned counsel for the respondent would submit that the respondent/wife has no objection to grant the relief for the aforesaid prayer to dispose of the said application within a time frame fixed by this Court.
4. In the light of the submission made by the learned counsel for the parties, this Court is inclined to direct the VI Additional Family Court, Chennai to pass orders in I.A.No.2257 of 2017 in O.P.No.1118 of 2014 and O.P.No.3546 of 2014 as expeditiously as possible, preferably within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. Both the parties undertakes that they will cooperate to dispose the case as expeditiously as possible.
5. This Civil Revision Petition is disposed of with the above direction. No costs. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petitions are closed.
