The petitioner has filed the above Writ Petition to issue a writ of mandamus directing the 1st respondent to pass appropriate orders in the appeal filed by the petitioner seeking to set aside the patta issued in favour of the 3rd respondent in CA.No.658 of 2013 dated 18.07.2013 in respect of the property situated at Old Municipal Door Nos.28,30,32 and 34, Lattice Bridge Road, Adyar, Chennai – 600 020 comprised in T.S.No.2/9, Block No.22 of Urur Village, Mylapore-Triplicane Taluk, admeasuring an extent of 6 grounds and 1446 sq.ft.
2. The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submitted that the petitioner has filed an appeal before the 1st respondent challenging the order passed by the 2nd respondent as early as on 18.12.2014. However, the 1st respondent has not disposed of the same yet.
3. Mr.A.N.Thambidurai, learned Special Government Pleader taking notice for the respondents 1 & 2 submitted that the 1st respondent may be directed to dispose of the appeal in accordance with law, after giving notice to the 3rd respondent.

Having regard to the submissions made by the learned counsel on either side, taking into consideration the limited prayer sought for in the Writ Petition, without expressing any opinion with regard to the merits of the case, I direct the 1st respondent to dispose of the appeal filed by the petitioner on 18.12.2014, after giving notice to the 3rd respondent, on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
5. With these observations, the Writ Petition is disposed of. No costs.
Consequently, the connected miscellaneous petition is closed.
