JUDGMENT / ORDER

The petitioner has filed the above Writ Petition to issue a Writ of Mandamus directing the second respondent to issue new ration card to her.
2. It is the case of the petitioner that the ration card originally issued to her was destroyed in the fire and hence she applied for fresh ration card on 05.12.2014. However the respondents have not issued the same yet. Subsequently, on 11.01.2016, the petitioner gave a representation to the first respondent for the issuance of new ration card. However, in spite of the same, no action has been taken by the respondents so far.
3. Mrs.K.Buvaneswari, learned Government Advocate taking notice for the respondents submitted that the respondents may be directed to consider the petitioner's application and representation, in accordance with law.
4. Having regard to the submissions made by the learned counsel on either side, taking into consideration the limited prayer sought for in the writ petition, without expressing any opinion with regard to the merits of the case, I direct the respondents to consider the petitioner's application dated 05.12.2014 and the reminder dated 11.01.2016 for the issuance of new ration card and complete the exercise, within four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
5. With this observation, the Writ Petition is disposed of. No costs.
