R.Sundaravelu vs The Secretary To Government

Madras High Court|03 January, 2017

JUDGMENT / ORDER

(Order of the Court was made by the Hon'ble Chief Justice) We have heard the learned counsel for parties. We were not inclined to grant relief in this petition, but instead of inviting an order the learned counsel for the petitioner states that the petitioner would like to approach the Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments Department for obtaining a lease on terms and conditions as may be considered appropriate by the Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments Department.
2. We, thus, grant two weeks time to the petitioner to do so and it would be for the Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments Department to take a call on the said issue. The petitioner may not be dispossessed till a call is taken on the aforesaid issue.
3. The amount deposited by the petitioner in Court as part payment towards damages be remitted to the Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments Department by the Registry along with accrued interest, if any.
The petition, accordingly, stands disposed of. No costs. Consequently, M.P.Nos.1 and 3 of 2014 are closed.
