Heard learned counsel for the petitioner, Sri N. K. Tiwari, learned counsel appearing for respondent nos.2 and 3 and learned Standing Counsel appearing for State-respondent no.1.
Instant writ petition has been filed seeking following relief :
“(i) Issue a writ, order or direction in the nature of mandamus directing the respondent No.3 Executive Engineer, Purvanchal Vidyut Vitran Nigam Limited, Electricity Distribution Sub-Division-5, Jhunsi, Prayagraj to consider and decide the representations of the petitioner dated 10.09.2020 and 19.10.2020 for allowing the benefit of exemption from payment of electricity duty in respect of Electricity Connection No.741805084650 (HV-2 Category) as expeditiously as possible preferably within the time stipulated by this Hon'ble Court, to secure the ends of justice.”
At the very outset, learned counsel for the petitioner submits that respondent no.3 may be directed to decide the representations of the petitioner, which is pending before him in respect of providing benefit of exemption from payment of electricity duty in respect of Electricity Connection No.741805084650 (HV-2 Category).
Learned counsel for the respondent submits that some reasonable time may be allowed to the respondent-authority for considering all the grievances and deciding the aforesaid representations of the petitioner.
Considering the facts and circumstances, but without entering into merits of the case, we hereby dispose of this writ petition with a direction to respondent no.3 to consider and decide the representations of petitioner dated 10.09.2020 and 19.10.2020 expeditiously, preferably within four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
