JUDGMENT / ORDER

Heard Mr.T.Lenin Kumar, the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and Mr.Pala Ramasamy, the learned Special Government Pleader appearing for the respondents.
2. This writ petition has been filed praying for a writ of Mandamus, to direct the respondent to disburse the schedule amount of Rs.1,70,553/-, with interest, for the completion of work of removal of silt and fallen earth, from L.S.17400m to 21000m, in left main canal of Palar Porundalar Dam, situated at Palani Taluk, Dindigul District.

Though the prayer sought for by the petitioner, in the present writ petition, is for a larger relief, the learned counsel appearing on behalf of the petitioner had submitted that it would suffice, if the respondent is directed to dispose of the representation, dated 15.10.2007, within a specified period.
4. The learned Special Government Pleader appearing on behalf of the respondents has no objection for this Court passing such an order.
5. In view of the submissions made by the learned counsels appearing on either side, the respondent is directed to dispose of the representation, dated 15.10.2007, after giving an opportunity of hearing to the petitioner , as well as to the other parties concerned, on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. The petitioner is directed to furnish a copy of the representation, dated 15.10.2007, to the respondent, along with a copy of this order.
