Antony Dominic, J. 1. The appellant was an employee of the first respondent society who retired from service on attaining the age of superannuation on 30.4.2009. According to him, though he was entitled to gratuity of `8,43,525/- in view of the provisions contained in the Group Gratuity Scheme, he was paid only `3.5 lakhs. It was in such circumstances, he filed the writ petition claiming the balance amount. The writ petition having been dismissed by the learned single Judge, this appeal is filed.
2. We heard learned counsel for the appellant and the respective counsel appearing for the respondents.
3. Although various contentions raised in the writ petition were reiterated before us, it has been noticed that the issue canvassed by the appellant is fully covered against him in view of the judgment in WA.406/14 2 Travancore Cements Employees Co-operative Bank Ltd.
v. Ramachandran Nair [2014 (1) KLT 889]. In such circumstances, we do not find any merit in the appeal.
Writ appeal fails. It is accordingly dismissed.
