The prayer in the writ petition is for a writ of mandamus, directing the Respondents 1 to 3 herein to transfer the petitioner from Government Higher Secondary School, Aaikudi, Tirunelveli District to any one of the existing vacancies for the post of B.T. Assistant (Maths) available in Kanyakumari District by considering the length of the petitioner's service outside Kanyakumari District as per the guidelines issued in Government Letter No.54102/A2/74-5/ dated 02.01.1975 and the proceedings of the Director of School Education in Na.Ka.No.150796/L/2000, dated 12.02.2001, within a stipulated time.
2.The petitioner by way of this writ petition seeks transfer to his own District i.e., Kanyakumari District as he has served for a long period outside Kanyakumari District.
3.Though the writ petition has been filed in the year 2010 and the same is pending for a long time, today, when the matter was taken up for hearing, the learned Additional Government Pleader would produce the communication from the Chief Educational Officer, Tirunelveli, which reads thus:

3.In view of the said communication filed, which has informed that in the year 2011 itself the petitioner has already been transferred to Kanyakumari District as he claimed and he joined as P.G. Assistant (Maths) even at Kanyakumari District on 19.11.2011 itself, no further order is required in this writ petition as the very prayer has been accomplished in the year 2011 itself.
4.Therefore, taking on record, the proceedings in Na.Ka.No.10415/A4/2010, dated 03.01.2017, by the Chief Educational Officer, Tirunelveli, this Writ Petition is closed as no further order is required. No costs. Consequently, connected Miscellaneous Petition is also closed.
