JUDGMENT / ORDER

The petitioner herein seeks early disposal of Crl.A No.715/2011, wherein he is one of the appellants. A connected appeal brought by the other accused convicted by the trial court is pending before the 1st Additional Session Court, Thrissur as Crl.A No.682/2011. The petitioner seeks orders for early disposal, on the ground that he had already lost employment due to the pendency of a criminal case, and that if the appeal is not disposed of at the earliest he will lose further opportunities of employment. Ext.P2 show cause notice from the Government shows that pendency of criminal proceeding has come to the notice of the Government, and that if the prosecution is not cleared, he will lose job opportunities under the Government. He also seeks orders for joint hearing of the two two appeals from the same conviction.
2. So far as the second prayer for joint hearing is concerned, orders will have to be passed by the learned Sessions Judge, withdrawing Crl.A No.682/2011 with records to the O.P(Crl) No. 249 of 2014 2 Principal Court. Such orders need not be passed by this Court in this proceeding. If the petitioner's grievance is really genuine, he will have to convince the learned Sessions Judge, that if disposal of the appeal is delayed, he will lose employment opportunities. If he has got a genuine grievance, no doubt, it will have to be considered by the appellate court, and the two appeals will have to be disposed of, as early as possible.
In the result, this Original Petition is closed with direction to the court below that the appeal brought by the petitioner herein and the connected appeal shall be disposed of as expeditiously as possible, in the interest of justice.
