ANTONY DOMINIC, J. The petitioner is the father of Athulya. She is married to the 3rd respondent, whose father and brother are respondents 4 and 5. Since their marriage was a love marriage, the same was not approved by her family members. According to him, subsequently, the relationship was normal. Later, on 2.6.2014, the petitioner got a telephone call from his daughter informing him that she is being persecuted and requesting him to save her from confinement of respondents 3 to 5. Thereupon, he made a complaint to the police and still later, he filed this Writ Petition praying for issue of a writ of habeas corpus to set his daughter at liberty.

On the filing of the Writ Petition, this Court passed an order on 6.6.2014 directing the 2nd respondent, in whose jurisdiction, respondents 3 to 5 are residing, to conduct a discreet enquiry into the matter and also to get a statement of the detenue recorded by a woman police officer. Accordingly, enquiry was conducted and the statement of the detenue was also recorded. The W.P.crl.240/14 - : 2 :-
report of the enquiry and the statement were made available to us by the learned Government Pleader, when the case was taken up today. The statement of the detenue revealed that the marriage was a love marriage. In the wedlock a female child was born and that since the marriage, the couple are residing with the parents of the 3rd respondent. It is also stated that after a while, the relationship which was strained, had become friendly. But, however, again it got strained for silly reasons. However, the detenue has confirmed that she is happily living with her husband and his parents and has confirmed that she is not in illegal detention.
Evidently therefore the facts now disclosed revealed incorrectness of the allegations made by the petitioner. In such circumstances, we are not inclined to entertain this Writ Petition and accordingly, the same is closed.
