The petitioners are senior citizens and owners of a house in which they are residing. Their son and daughter-in-law are also residing in the same premises.
The case of the petitioners is that their son and daughter-in-law are not taking their adequate care and are also harassing them. A direction is sought to get the house vacated from the occupation of son and daughter-in-law in accordance with the provisions of Maintenance and Welfare of Parents and Senior Citizen Act, 2007.
Before approaching this Court, the petitioners also submitted a representation to the District Magistrate, Allahabad to initiate proceedings under the Act of 2007 but of no avail. A copy of the representation said to be submitted is available on record as Annexure-4.
Having considered this fact, we deem it appropriate to direct the District Magistrate to consider and take appropriate steps on the representation submitted by the petitioners on 20.3.2018, copy whereof is available on record as Annexure-4. The District Magistrate is required to act upon the representation expeditiously and as far as possible within fifteen days from the date, the petitioners present a certified copy of this order before him.
The writ petition, with the aforesaid observations stands, disposed of.
