Heard learned counsel for the appellant on the point of admission and perused the impugned judgment and order.
This criminal appeal has been filed by the accused-appellant against the judgment and order dated 31.5.2010, passed by the learned Additional District & Sessions Judge, Court No.5, Gonda in Sessions Trial No. 07 of 2009 (crime no. 28 of 2007); State Versus Ram Prakash Pathak under Sections 498-A/304-B IPC & 3/4 Dowry Prohibition Act, Police Station Kotwali Dehat, District Gonda, whereby the learned Additional District & Sessions Judge has held the accused-appellant guilty under 498-A/304-B IPC & 3/4 Dowry Prohibition Act and has convicted and sentenced him to undergo different terms of rigorous imprisonment including fine. The maximum sentence awarded under Section 304-B is of 8 years default stipulation.
