Heard Sri Punit Kumar Gupta, learned counsel for the petitioner and Sri Abhishek Shukla, the learned standing counsel.
It is submitted by learned counsel for the petitioner that an application dated 27.12.2017 (Annexure-7), under Rule 16 of the 2016 Rules framed under U.P Revenue Code, 2016, with regard to settlement of boundaries falling in two districts, i.e., Meerut and J.P. Nagar, is pending consideration before the State Government, an appropriate direction be issued to the authority concerned to consider and dispose of the same, within a stipulated period.
Learned standing counsel submits that no useful purpose would be served by keeping this petition pending, it be disposed of by giving appropriate direction to the respondent concerned.
Considering the facts and circumstances of the case, this petition is disposed of with the direction to respondent no.1 / Principal Secretary (Revenue), U.P. Government, Lucknow to consider and decide the application dated 27.12.2017 (Annexure-7), as expeditiously as possible, preferably within 4 months from the date of the production of the certified copy of the order, in accordance with law.
Service of the certified copy of the order upon the respondent concerned shall constitute sufficient notice to submit a compliance report.
List on 11.9.2018 in Chambers at 4.00 PM along with a compliance report.
It is made clear that this Court has not commented on the merits of the claim of the petitioner.
