1. Heard learned counsel for the parties.
2. The petitioner appears to have filed an application for issuance of fire-arm license under the heirloom category, his father (original licensee) having died on 25.07.1995. The application itself is claimed to have been filed on 02.05.2016.
3. In view of above, no useful purpose would be served in keeping the present petition pending. The present petition is disposed of with the direction that in the event the petitioner may file a fresh application under the Arms Rules, 2016, the same may be dealt with and decided in accordance with law, keeping in mind the timelines provided under the Arms Rules, 2016.
