Heard Sri Devesh Kumar Shukla, learned counsel for the petitioners and Sri A.N. Mulla, learned AGA, appearing on behalf of State.
By means of this writ petition, the petitioners have come to this Court, seeking a writ of mandamus directing the respondents to provide adequate compensation in accordance with law as contemplated under the provisions of Schedule Castes and Schedule Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act, 1989.
Learned AGA has submitted that no useful purpose would be served in keeping the writ petition pending, this writ petition is disposed of by giving an appropriate direction to the Authority concerned.
The writ petition is disposed of with the direction to the Competent Authority under the law to consider and dispose of the grievance of the petitioner strictly in accordance with the law as expeditiously, as possible, preferably within a period of six months from the date of production of certified copy of this this order.
It is made clear that this Court has not commented on the merits of the entitlement of the petitioner, if any.
With the aforesaid direction, this petition is finally disposed of.
