Heard the counsel for the petitioners.
The present writ petition has been filed by the petitioners praying for a writ of mandamus directing the Settlement Officer of Consolidation, (Judicial), Gorakhpur, i.e., respondent no. 1 to decide Appeal No. 3149/25.9.2018 (New No. 1260/20-21) filed under Section 11(1) of the Uttar Pradesh Consolidation of Holdings Act, 1953 pending in the court of Settlement Officer of Consolidation, (Judicial), Gorakhpur.
The Settlement Officer of Consolidation, (Judicial), Gorakhpur, i.e., respondent no. 1 is directed to decide the aforesaid appeal, if still pending, within a period of six months from the date a copy of this order is produced before him, in case, there is no legal impediment in deciding the aforesaid appeal.
It is clarified that this Court has not expressed any opinion on the merits of the claim of the petitioners.
With the aforesaid direction, the writ petition is disposed of.
